MindLog starter set: The good life

A complimentary starter set from the Lectica team

This MindLog starter set was inspired by the research of Dr. Cheryl Armon, whose 20-year study of people's thinking about the Good Life has long informed our understanding of human values and desires.

In graduate school, I (Theo) did dozens of Good Life interviews. One of the most gratifying things about conducting these interviews was the number of people who expressed enthusiastic thanks when their interviews ended. Folks truly valued the opportunity to explore the Good—especially as it related to their personal lives.  

We think that responding to the Good Life prompts below—and sharing their thoughts with one or more friends or colleagues—will help mindloggers get clearer about the things they value, the people they'd like to be, and the lives they'd like to live.

Prompt sequence and content

We've thought carefully about the sequence in which these prompts are ordered, but we don't want you to feel that you're obligated to respond to every prompt, adhere to this order, or work solely with the prompts presented here. If you have more to say on any aspect of the good life or want to explore a tangent, feel free to insert your own prompts anywhere in the sequence. If a prompt doesn't seem relevant to you, feel free to skip it. It's your Good Life, after all!
